Femoropopliteal Endovascular Revascularization
Femoropopliteal endovascular revascularization restores flow through stenotic or occluded superficial femoral and popliteal arteries using balloon angioplasty, drug-coated balloons, stents, covered stents or selective plaque-modification devices. It is indicated for functionally limiting claudication unresponsive to guideline-directed therapy and for limb salvage in chronic limb-threatening ischemia. Technical success generally exceeds 90โ95%, but durability depends on lesion length, calcification, chronic total occlusion, runoff, clinical presentation and device selection; clinically important vessel-related complications occur in approximately 5% in historical series.
