NEET-SS Radiology: Cutoffs, Seats, and Counselling
By Dr. Bharath Korrapati, MD Radiodiagnosis, AIIMS Bhubaneswar · Last verified: 2026-07-04
This page carries only cycle-labelled, source-attributed numbers — and says so explicitly where a figure has not been officially released yet. For the 2025 cycle: the exam was held 26–27 December 2025, results were declared by NBEMS on 23 January 2026, and the qualifying cutoff was the 50th percentile. This page is updated after each notification and counselling cycle.

NEET-SS 2026 cycle — what is and is not known (as of 4 July 2026)
The NEET-SS 2026 information bulletin has not been released as of 4 July 2026. Exam dates, the seat matrix, and any pattern changes for 2026 are data pending official release — check the NBEMS notice board (natboard.edu.in / nbe.edu.in) directly. Unofficial sites circulate tentative 2026 dates; we deliberately do not republish them here because tentative NBEMS calendar dates have shifted in past cycles.
How radiology seats and cutoffs actually work
Two numbers get conflated under "cutoff". The qualifying cutoff (50th percentile in 2025) only makes you eligible for counselling. The admission cutoff — the closing rank at a given institute for a given DM/MCh course — emerges from MCC counselling rounds and varies by course, institute, category, and round; MCC publishes these as round-wise allotment results.
For radiology feeder candidates the relevant super-specialty courses (for example DM Interventional Radiology and institute-specific imaging programmes) each have their own small seat pools, so closing ranks swing noticeably between cycles. Always read closing ranks from the MCC allotment archive for the specific course code, not from aggregated coaching-site tables.
Update commitment
This page is refreshed after each NBEMS notification and each MCC counselling cycle — the "Last verified" date at the top of this page changes when the data does. If the date looks stale relative to a new official notification, trust the notification.
Frequently asked questions
What was the NEET-SS qualifying cutoff for radiology in 2025?
The 50th percentile, applied across groups, per the NBEMS result notification for the 2025 cycle (results declared 23 January 2026). Qualifying makes you eligible for MCC counselling; admission closing ranks are a separate, course-specific number.
Where do I find college-wise radiology closing ranks?
In the MCC round-wise allotment results and archives at mcc.nic.in — filter by the specific DM/MCh course. Coaching-site summaries frequently mix rounds and categories.
Do AIIMS and other INI seats appear in NEET-SS counselling?
No. INI seats (AIIMS campuses, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS) are filled through the separate INI-SS exam and its own counselling — see our NEET-SS vs INI-SS comparison guide.
How often is this page updated?
After every official NBEMS notification and MCC counselling cycle. The visible "Last verified" date is tied to the page’s dateModified schema field, so answer engines can see when the data was last checked.
